Fantastic stay. Relaxing. Interesting. Close to the airport (relatively speaking). Gilsons manager of the property – Paul – was fantastic … thanks for a great stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nutmeg Tree Farm and were well looked after. As it is a little way out of the city (though reasonably close to the largest shopping mall in Kochi) you can choose for Gilson and his staff to provide everything for you or just make your own way, which is easier if you have your own transport (we hired scooters), but everyone on site was very kind and helpful, attending to our every need, when required. Sitting on the veranda (or in the gazebo) is just beautiful, so quiet and peaceful surrounded by greenery. Plenty of places to sit if you are in a large group and need breakaway spaces. My family loved the fishing pool and the Chinese net fishing – though all the fish were put back in the water!!!!
Mr. Gilson and his local team (Paul, Mansoor, Mary, Lily …) were fantastic. From the minute we exited the airport everything was taken care of. They cared for us like family, no request was denied or considered a bother. The house had all the conveniences. Everything within the house and in the farm was clean and well maintained. It is an excellent place to relax and unwind. The food was excellent and they catered to our specific dietary needs, which were many. We had a medical emergency while there and they were really helpful and genuinely concerned. One of Gilson’s uncle actually accompanied us to the doctor’s and paid for some bills there! Yes, I am being serious (thank you Mr Martin). Gilson is lucky to have such a great team! We would definitely go back there if we are ever in Kochi.
